ALAN FLATTMANN

Workshops

Alan Flattmann's workshops take place in scenic settings around the United States and abroad. Most classes are conducted on location with the focus on landscape and cityscape painting. Occasionally, Flattmann teaches portraiture in combination with landscape painting. Classes are usually in the morning and late afternoon. When traveling abroad, plenty of time is allowed for leisurely lunches and exploring. A few evenings are set aside for critiques and discussions.

Ravello, Italy Demo

One of the strong points of Flattmann's workshops is his skill in teaching the techniques he has developed in almost 40 years of painting professionally. He does daily demonstrations in pastel, watercolor and oil, depending on the offerings of each workshop. Particular emphasis is placed on working in a well planned, organized manner. The workshops offer a sound and fundamental approach to painting using basic principles of composition, drawing, color and technique.

Flattmann has taught since 1968 and is a recipient of the 1996 American Artist Art Masters Award for pastel teacher. He has conducted workshops around the United States and has led painting tours to Greece, Ireland, Italy, France, Bermuda, Barbados,Croatia and Mexico. His sound and stimulating instruction has made his workshops fascinating and beneficial to students of all abilities.

The following is a list of Flattmann's future workshops. Please contact the organizers directly for brochures, cost and enrollment.
